This unit comes with a 1/4 pipe valve. My system used 3/8. I ordered BUT Revains "also bought" recommended buying both sizes (make 2 valves @ 1/4 to give them up). What MUST have been recommended is a thread sealant (avoid teflon tape as any fragment can destroy other reverse osmosis components). Bought a complete Ispring reverse osmosis system including pump about a year ago with standard 4 gallon tank (3.2 gallon water capacity). We wanted more water storage so we bought the ispring 5.5 (4 gallon capacity). Tested empty pressure is 8.5 pounds (37 pounds full). This replacement tank arrived quickly, 2 days earlier than originally estimated and it was great! There are some inconsistencies in the online documentation: 1. Mine came with a valve and it was better than my original because it had a gasket, no teflon tape needed. 2. There was no pressure in my tank and the system didn't work after I installed the tank.
