Fits great looks great great case

Received this case via Prime delivery yesterday. Arrived on time as expected. The package was simple and effective. The case assembly instructions are printed directly on the box, very simple and efficient. The case is of excellent quality, good solid construction, the parts fit together well. Nice matte black finish. Now for the important part, does the Pi fit! YES fits perfectly. The Pi is mounted/held using the 4 factory mounting holes on the Pi's circuit board with the included screws which

Terrible thermal design, poor instructions, loose lid

RetroPie console. but I didn't want to buy one of the many cute retro console cases that are notorious for poor cooling, and it was important that the microSD card be easily accessible without tools (tweezers, paperclip, etc.) so that it can be swapped out if necessary a separate Amibian microSD card. From what I saw online this one looked like a winner, but there are still a few minor annoyances that made me deduct a few stars. 1) The instructions state that you must mount the fan upside down…

Cheap, thin and poorly designed.

If you follow the instructions to assemble the case, you will not be able to reassemble it. They specifically tell you where to place the included heatsinks on the Raspberry Pi 3, but this prevents the case from being assembled due to parts colliding, which the manufacturer never seems to have done themselves. Build quality throughout the case is cheap, similar to plastic dollar store toys. I was concerned that if I first took the case apart to put the computer in, it would break in half. If…

First class product

I see quite a few negative reviews about this and am shocked. My Pi 3B+ logged in and everything closed fine. The fan rotates effortlessly on the nubs in the lid. There is clean, unobstructed access to the GPIO pins under the top cover. You can even connect a ribbon cable, but it's fixed. You must connect it before plugging the board into the case. The body is finished clean and very smooth. I gave it a 4 for durability based on initial judgements. I have a feeling it could be five, but I won't

This lowers the temperature.

First my temps were 68-71 and now with this case they are 58-63 so it works (at full speed 5V). The instructions were printed for ants and you'll have to squint to read them, but it's not hard at all. I suggest looking at a good picture of the Pi's GPIO pinout and you should be fine. FYI, the fan stays on all the time when the power cord is plugged in. even if you close PI. Other thoughts, the silent mode on the 3V pin is really quiet but has little effect on cooling, 5V has a slight hum that…

Nice case, can provide enough cooling

I just got my first Pi 3 B+ to try and tweak the Pi a bit for retro gaming. I bought this case hoping that the fan would provide more cooling. I did benchmarking to check it. I ran the linux tool "Stress" to load the CPU and the glxgeek raspberry pi gl test tool to load the GPU for 15 minutes while monitoring the CPU temperature and speed with vcgencmd observed. The Pi had a stick on heatsinks. First I tried 3B+ in this case without the fan, it quickly went up to 70 degrees and down to 1.2GHz…

UPDATE - NOVEMBER 01, 2018 Yes. As others have reported, this case has finally been updated to support the RPi 3B+. Changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Fits perfectly with my new RPi 3B+. Buy without fear. ORIGINAL REVIEW - MAY 22, 2018 I ordered this case after reading other reviews. I am grateful to those who have warned me that this case does not yet support the Raspberry Pi 3 B+, although the graphical displays still posted on Revain indicate its 'new' B+ support. There was even an…

  • High Price

This fan-cooled ABS case is a good option for my Raspberry Pi 3B+ that was built and configured to run an entire Pi-Hole network. The Pi 3B+ board fits perfectly into the bottom half of the case, and the included board mounting screws securely fasten the Pi board to the case. Be sure to use the two aluminum finned heatsinks included in the kit, as other finned heatsinks are likely to be too large and not protrude from the fan case when adding a case cover with the fan installed. Likewise. The…
