Failed after 3 months

Unfortunately this pump motor failed quite spectacularly after three months when we were pumping the engine coolant out of our radiator with crackling, clouds of smoke and a burning smell. It's quite expensive for the level of quality and durability.

That does not work. save your money

I wanted to use it instead of a hand pump to drain oil out of a boat. It didn't work and I used an old hand pump. I didn't return it before the return window closed so I lost $42. That part is on me, but save your money and look elsewhere. It's a piece of junk.

Do not use for drinking or cooking.

I have it and it looks reasonable for pumping water from a tank into a house. I did not open the packaging as it was written that it is NOT intended for drinking water. The package had a California label stating it contained cobalt metal. It should not be used for anything that requires human consumption, drinking water, or food preparation. This information is missing in the description.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Promotes light gear oil!

I'm a heavy equipment mechanic. Today I used this pump in combination with my Milwaukee M18 drill press. I put in about 10 gallons of 75w-90 gear oil, 4 gallons of 10w gear oil and 30 gallons of 46 hydraulic oil. It ran fine. I connected the inlet to a pipe, not a hose. For what I was doing, I wanted to coil the hose on the suction side. The hose didn't work. That's 44 gallons of oil. This saved me tons of time and eliminated the need to use a hand pump. Above all, it allows you to be mobile…

This is a great little and great value pump

This is a great little and great value pump. UNLESS YOU USE THE SMALL SMALL GAUGE TUBE that comes with it. I replaced both of the hoses that came with them with 1/2 inch id heavy wall vinyl hoses. My engine has service hoses that connect to drain plugs. 6 1/2 gallons pumped out in minutes. to the engine. I tried a small 1/8"+ ID hose - not even full. Was close to throwing it out. But the right hoses and fittings and a small, inexpensive pump that's easy to clean works like a Champion Glad I…

2 years old and still rocking.

Much better design than most pumps on the market. I've been using mine for 2 years now and was just rethinking it. I use it to pump out a small amount of old gas from the many small and large gas engines on my farms so I can have fresh gas anywhere. Hasn't started leaking yet which has been a big problem with many other cheaper pumps I've bought. Others are locked when a blade breaks. I have paid much higher prices for pumps that have lasted much less time. As with most portable pumps, life is…

  • Absolutely amazing!

This is an amazing pump!

I bought this pump to pump water out of my basement sump because my main sump stopped working. My backup battery pump took over and ran like a champ. However, the backup storage pump is located much higher in the sump and I didn't want to overload it with drain due to the recent heavy rains. Since I still had power, I didn't worry about the battery dying since it was running on house electricity. I knew there was a lot of water in the swamp that I could see, but I suspected that the pipes…

Great solution for pumping oil in some RV's with diesel pushrods

I used this to change the oil in our RV with diesel pushrods and rear radiator. Unfortunately, the oil filler opening is located above the cooler. Our Cummins holds 4 gallons of oil. I used a funnel, 1" PVC pipe extension, and flexible hose together and put it over the open rear engine access panel to get oil into the engine. As you can understand, with this method there is a high probability of preparing porridge, and you need to stand on a stool, lift one-liter jars of oil over your shoulders

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost ok
