🔧 Johnson Pump 09-812B-1 F6 Impeller - MC97: Premium Quality and Efficient Performance Review

Save $15 plus shipping by buying here instead of the parts stores. It is the original equipment manufacturer for most Ford Model 351 inboard engines used in the marine industry.

I bought an OEM for a reason. The impeller itself is fine but they came with a foam pad which later leaked and had to be replaced. Turn on the old fashioned paper charts, charge me an extra 5 cents, I don't care.

I wasn't sure what was in the box when I bought this so thought I'd share some photos of what came in the mail. It appears to come with an impeller (actual Johnson part), gasket, o-rings, grease and instruction manual.

I installed it on board my 1999 Mastercraft 205. It's easy to install, especially with the included lube. I've never changed any of these, but there are videos on YouTube showing how. It's a lot cheaper than hiring a ship mechanic.

I have seen several reports of imported wheels and that they were not genuine. This is the real deal! installed in my MasterCraft 351W. They supply a new gasket, rubber o-rings if used (not required for my impeller) and some lube. I plan to buy a second one just in case.

Factory friendliness. Couldn't go with the nameless. Remember to pay. Works great, installation is pretty easy. There are no complaints. Tip: Use 2 screwdrivers/paint can openers on opposite ends for easier removal. I found this out after trying to uninstall it for an hour. After pulling the impeller out of the case and applying even pressure to both ends, it popped out.** What's in the box: impeller. 2 o-rings, gasket, glycol bag and date/hours decal.

My Mercruiser 260 with closed cooling started to overheat so I pulled out the old impeller and it was wrecked. I ordered this for overnight delivery as I had company and wanted to use the boat. Great quality and works exactly like the original which I believe is also made by Johnson. The model number is the same and the other had no problems but was just over two years old and it is recommended to change it every two years. I changed it myself using two screwdrivers to pry out the old one.
