This pump works well on my boat

Installed this variable speed pump on my boat to replace the fixed speed pump. This pump is much smoother. I'm happy with that.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Weak

Useless pump, meaningless warranty

Installed this pump less than a year ago and it died. The pump began to work constantly and warm up. I contacted Johnson in September and they agreed to replace the pump. But the replacement pump never showed up, now 6 weeks later

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Adding a 1 gallon buffer tank significantly reduces the number of cycles.

This pump has been on my boat for over 10 years and has never failed despite extensive use. I can't say the same for other Johnson products, but this pump is one of their best products in my opinion.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Bad pump reinstalled

Bought this pump as an emergency spare for my boat. Store in a controlled, climate-controlled environment and in a closed, sealed box until needed. Installed 18 months later but found unusable. Works slow. Variable speed with pressure shutoff operates indefinitely beyond 30psi shutoff. Will not stop working even at 50psi. It is defective or mislabeled and packaged as a 12v model and possibly a 24v model.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

There was a defective part in the package.

I haven't installed the pump yet, but when I opened the box I found that one of the red clips holding the nozzles in place was broken. I'm hoping to salvage a clip from an existing pump if it's the same size. I managed to salvage the clip from the old pump. What's a bit scary is that the functionality of this pump depends on a small plastic clip, which should have at least one extra in the box, just in case.

Pros
  • Lasting Test Results
Cons
  • Some Cons

Worked well in my 30ft Airsteam

Based on several reviews online I was a little hesitant to buy this pump but agreed because it looked almost identical to the aqua jet pump I was replacing , and was competitive. by price. It runs at a lower pressure (30psi) than my original (85psi) but that seems more than enough and due to the increased GPM (5.0 vs 3.5) the pressure difference is imperceptible. The pump works perfectly and is quieter than my originals. I added a Shurflo storage tank to fix the hot water expansion leak but it…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
