quality goods!

bedding for mealworms. My daughter is a veterinarian and has also been involved in animal rescue for many years. Two years ago she saved an injured Robin. Now he lives in a cage in our living room and feeds on live mealworms.

Not much for the money

I'm not sure what type of measure was used to advertise this product as 5 liters but it is very misleading. If it weighed a pound I would be amazed. Very disappointed! Gave two stars because it arrived quickly and appears to be of good quality but definitely not worth the price.

Bedding for mealworms is best in the substrate

I haven't opened the mat yet as our orioles haven't arrived from the south yet. This bedding is designed for live mealworms who love them. But I used this bedding all summer and fed mealworms with great success until I excused myself and put them in the Oriole feeder. Pictured is an oriole chewing on worms.

Heat or frost or risk of oat mite infestation

I have ordered this several times and have been mostly satisfied. My only complaint is that I had to freeze the packs a few days before using them because after using one of the packs I got oat mites which were absolutely painful to get rid of. As such, I recommend freezing or reheating the product before attempting to use it.

There are grain mites on the substrate

Used bran on some super worms starving for food. This is the first time I have had mites. Grain mites ended up crawling into my other container all over the container. It was disgusting. I hope I didn't end up in my roach colony since they were on the same shelf. I threw away the whole bag. I think I could toss it in the freezer or reheat it in the oven, but that's too much work. And I just couldn't bring myself to put it in a freezer full of groceries.
