Imported steel, too soft.

The steel is very soft and weak. I don't know where to buy the solid steel American version. It can be easily cut or broken with little force.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Not sure

Locks the door on the accessory

My trailer was broken into and the old latch broke. This replacement was easy to install, fits perfectly with what was put out by another brand and looks pretty solid. Now lock the door.

  • Everything is fine!

Works as it should

Item as described and works great. I wish we could respond to people leaving negative reviews. See a scammer gave a bad review because it was two parts? Come on.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not reliable

Perfect replacement

The ones that came with my trailer were not made properly so I was able to use a good lock. This trailer door lock is a perfect replacement and very easy to install. I ordered another one to replace the other side of the door.

The right tool for the job

My trailer has been hacked; I cut off the bracket (aluminum) and replaced it with this steel bracket. It worked great. I fitted it with a deadbolt lock and they were unsuccessful on the second try. That's all I could ask for.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • Useless features

Poor design, does not fit Master Hidden shackle locks 6271

model with 3-3/4" spacing. too close to the main body). The gap between the two eyelets is too wide, about 4mm (almost 3/16"), and the curved edges of the wobble horn exacerbate the fit problem. Also, the round mounting holes don't fit carriage bolts. The square head of the 1/4" carriage bolt will not fit in the bracket hole that is the hinge of the moving part of the deadbolt. The other mounting hole is too large to hold the square head of the carriage bolt. It would have been so easy to fix…

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • There are nuances

Works great - Trailer Attachment

I have used this on the side of an enclosed cargo trailer. I installed it on the side of the trailer to block the latch and prevent it from getting locked in while sleeping. I put a mortise lock on the door so it can be locked from the inside.

Pros
  • Trailer Attachment
Cons
  • Working Speed

Slightly wider

Good latch as most but the only problem is the top of the hasp is too wide for a medium washer lock. This makes locking and unlocking the washer lock more difficult and even slightly affects the correct installation of the lock. A quick walk on the grinder before installation would help, or even a few minutes with a dremel after installation is required to get a better washer lock fit.

Pros
  • External accessory
Cons
  • Requires escutcheon

MUCH nicer than the camlock seller's

I couldn't bring myself to use the hasp that came in the seller's box of the camlock here at Revain, 36 inch. It was thin metal, not at all like cam lock material. THIS latch is THICK, STRONG {and easy to install}, just like the ones on the rear barn doors from the factory that built my trailer. Easily accommodates round locks, both with an open shackle and with a concealed shackle.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Not the best

Poor design, doesn't fit Master Hidden Shackle 6271

model with 3-3/4" hole spacing, it doesn't fit Master Hidden Shackle 6271 because of the lock cleat The holes in the rosette are not far enough away from the lugs (too close to the main body) of the rear of the Master Lock because the distance between the two lugs is too large at about 4mm (nearly 3/16 inch) and the curved edges of the rocker arm lugs exacerbate the fit problem . Also, round mounting holes are not suitable for carriage bolts. The square head of the 1/4" carriage bolt does not…
