Standard cheap Xacto knives tend to come loose when I use them, but this one doesn't. The many blades that come with it make it easy for me to switch to a new blade when I really need to rather than skimp on it. That alone makes it better than most pricier options. It's more about me than this product, but if I speak like you, it could make a difference.

I love the idea of keeping an Xacto knife in the garage, one in the kitchen drawer, one in my husband's tool box and one in my workshop. Plus, with a ton (70) extra blades, I never have to worry about finding replacements. I love how this knife feels in my hand and how easily it cuts. The handle makes it easy to change blades, and if you tighten it, the replacement won't fall out.

Bought for my bookbinding project. The knives are very light compared to real X-acto knives, so you need a little more strength and you have to be more careful not to throw the knives across the room. The blades are sharp but dull very quickly. I cut chipboard and change it every other board. However, the cap doesn't help you change blades, so you can grab another tool to rotate the blades without hurting yourself.
