This is the perch that all my budgies, both English and American budgies, seem to like the most, especially for sleeping. I have now bought 3 of these.

I liked it and so did my bird, along with bungee cords. Folks, please do not buy rope toys for your bird. My avian vet performed an autopsy on my bird after it died and swallowed the cotton material of the rope. Rest in peace misty.

Be careful when purchasing this type of perch for your feathered friend. Some birds like my GCC eat cotton fiber. Don't just chew - EAT. Being on a budget, I didn't want to just throw them in the trash, so I bought a cheap blanket from Kmart ($2), cut it, and covered the perch to hide the cotton fibers. My GCC will not chew on blanket fabric. The perch coating made it usable and safe for my bird. It is not the fault of the manufacturer of this product that some birds may damage these perches…

I got about 8 of these to replace the old ones I have and only didn't like 1 so I'm taking a star away. I received a used one, there was food in it, so I might have to send it back. And one of them was a little frayed, but I wanted to cut it. While others were great. My birds love these perches as they are very comfortable for their feet. Glad to have received this. I wanted to add more variety in the size and style of perches for my finches without cluttering the cage. It's perfect on both counts: every second perch I own is made of various hard surface materials. Looks like they'd like to have that one to choose from too. I have one large and two small of these rope poles for my budgie who now has a broken leg. He needs a way to climb more as his landing skills aren't that great and I wanted to create a softer surface for his good leg as it's taking most of the load now.
