We used these supplements for several weeks and cleaned the cage weekly before removing them. If tunnels are placed outside of Kaytee's animal habitat, they will allow pet urine to flow out of the tunnels. This was addressed by placing something under the habitat to collect urine, including the outer tunnels. Like a cage, these tunnel systems need to be soaked, cleaned, and rinsed at least once a week. We would not buy them again and cannot recommend them.

Goes well with the Kaytee line. Very colorful and you can arrange the straws as you like. The main downside is that they aren't easy to clean (I've just started taking them off and running as hot water as I can through them. The plastic ties holding the tubes together seem strong, but I imagine that in a year they will probably start to break if they are turned on and off regularly sometimes it's hard to get the straps to snap into place but most of the time it's ok love the product and would…

This is probably one of the first reviews I've written. However, I had to let people know that the climbing mount is very heavy and will come loose. I just chased my son's (Hammond) hamster around the house. Apparently his climbing dome fell on its side while we slept leaving a small hole for my son's hamster to get out. My large male Syrian hamster loves this extension. It's much cheaper than other retail stores. While he's fun like other Kaytees (and other hamster tunnels), it's not very easy to attach/assemble him to an apartment block or other tunnels. In addition, disassembly is difficult. The best feature of this kit is the Loop-D-Loop. It can be mounted in all possible positions. Although the picture shows an aligned "continuous" piece, you can join the two halves together in any position that the tabs align. I have an offset of about 150 degrees because it gave me the best distance for my funnel maze. The two halves are held together with a large plastic screw that is easy to loosen and hand tighten. The tubes connect easily and hold up well, but if you ever want to take them apart there's a good chance it will. Tear off a piece of cheap plastic from the connecting ring. This doesn't affect the ring's hold after a replacement or two, but I wouldn't recommend assembling any tubes until you know how you need them and then not trying to replace them afterwards. Purchased for my daughter's hamster run to add living space without increasing the living space itself. The parts interact easily with all Kaytee CritterTrail cages. My daughter attached an oval loop to an existing shelter above the main cage, which is accessed through an existing upstairs tunnel.
