They come in a resealable pouch which is very handy and sits very securely on my ear cups. The holes are wide enough for most threads, I just didn't make it because my plastic thread needle is too thick (you'll have to get one of those metal needles). I use them on both earbuds made from pure acrylic yarn or a cotton/acrylic blend.
