Great for rock climbing

My wife was able to wear this hiking suit right away without breaking it in. The boots are totally waterproof - we walked to the waterfall right after the rain and had to cross a lot of small streams. They also have additional protection against dirt. They gave their feet more protection on the rocks than their lighter hiking boots. They offered very good traction in slippery areas. She is very, very happy with the look of these boots. We highly recommend them!

Poor Quality: Shoes

Bought these boots for a job on a farm/ranch and they didn't even last 2 months before the leather started to tear and the rubber at the top came off. I was trying to find a reliable work boot that would last all day in the field and be slip resistant on a variety of surfaces. These boots were semi-waterproof, but in the early morning, when dew fell on the pasture, the feet got wet. These are comfortable boots, but they don't stand up to everyday farm/ranch use. Very disappointed with the…

Needs more arch support

I swim between 6.5, 6.5W and 7 in running shoes and I have a pair of old Keen work boots in 6.5. I ordered them a size 6.5 and I think they fit true to size. However, I will be returning them, so I cannot certify the water resistance. Pros: My legs are far from the norm and I don't feel restricted anywhere. The shoe is constructed nicely and looks like it will hold up well. The upper lace hook keeps the laces in place and makes tying easier. Cons: Arch support is minimal, rubs my ankle…

Great shoe, tight fit.

I usually wear double socks (wool lining for hiking and light cotton to wick moisture) in my hiking boots. These boots out of the box were too tight for my double sock. A thick hiking sock was enough for a 2-mile hike. The boots worked well, I had no problems with friction. If you had a true size 10 I would order. I'm a size 9.5 or 10 depending on the shoe and they are JUST long enough. Again, enough room for good socks and without touching, but I used to have more roomy boots. I went through…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Vulgarity

Perfect! I ordered a size up and it fits perfectly! Have ordered several different types/sizes thanks to perfect wardrobe and couldn't try on in stores due to Covid precautions. Large durable toe box and outsole. Took her on a hike in the pouring rain through the cliffs of the Red River Gorge, steep descents and steep climbs! When I mean downpours, I mean a summer storm in Southeast Kentucky! Warning! When they say waterproof, they mean it! Until you are under the full effect of a waterfall…

Great walking shoes (though not with the arch support I was expecting)

Love these walking shoes! They are comfortable and beautiful from the start. I have wide feet and a size 10 is perfect for me. I've only worn them indoors, but I can say they're great for outdoor hikes. I'm just disappointed that I read an article that voted these boots the #1 hiking boot for women with plantar fasciitis. I have been suffering from chronic plantar fasciitis for over a year and these boots do not provide enough arch support in my opinion. The insoles are thin. But normally I…

Why aren't these boots as good as my old ones?

My old Targhees that I used to travel the world in finally gave up despite all the gorilla goo. So I bought another pair through Revain. What mistake! One boot fits as expected and the other has a stain under the metal tip insert that only gets worse as I wear the boots. I even asked the shoemaker to try and stretch the upper. Nothing good. Just a little bit better. The fit of these boots has gotten so bad that I can barely wear them and I have bone swelling under the area - so I don't want to…

Saved my life! on Hiking shoes

So this is the first time I've bought a pair of hiking shoes. Did a lot of research, used Revain's amazing try-before-you-buy service and ordered 3 other brands, all in 2 sizes each. The Merrel Moab was the biggest competitor in my opinion, but this one won the battle and I'll tell you why: I thought they had more legroom. However, Merrel definitely felt like a sneaker. Suuuuper comfortable immediately. But they gave my foot more structure in my opinion, room for my toes and most importantly…

Too narrow for wide feet

I love my Keen Mary Jane style shoes for their roomy fit and comfort so I had high hopes for these boots. Thousands of reviews are great. But they just don't work for me. They feel good when I put them on for the first time, but as soon as I start walking my legs burn with pain. I first wore them to work in the yard for about 4 hours and at the end of that time I couldn't get up more than 5-10 minutes at a time. I thought because they are new. The next day I went camping on a dirt fire road…
