I live in Florida, which can be tough on a dog. I put the mat in her bed and also use it when she is in the back of my car. It really does feel cool to the touch!

I assumed it would be more like a bed but it is very light weight. Our dog still chooses not to lay on it cuz she is picky, but it’s amazing how cool it feels to the touch. Also easy to throw in the wash.

My cats don't care for these. One refuses to sleep on it. He's the one who's always hot so I was surprised he wouldn't sleep on it. The other I have seen him sleep on only twice. I don't think he cares for it either. I may try washing it and see if they will sleep on it afterwards.

It is not as cold as gel mats but it feels a little bit cooler than a regular mat. My cats do seems to like it but I think it is too thin. So I put an extra blanket under it but if I do, I’m not too sure if it still works as a cooling mat. But my cats do use it so 4 stars.

It looks nice, lays flat. The fabric itself is just a cooler fabric, it's not gel or technology. The mesh underneath I guess circulates air more inside which makes sense, but despite me dragging it all over the house, my cat won't sit on it! I sat on it while I cleaned the floor once. He sat on a dirty t-shirt. Who knows with cats!

We've had a couple of unusually hot days. I panicked because I don't have AC. I got this pad for my shepherd mix who doesn't do so well in the heat because of his thick coat. The day it arrived the weather hit 110! He didn't come off the pad. It feels cool to the touch and accommodates his big belly. The price was perfect, too. My dog loves these cooling mats and seeks them out on her own to lie down. They are cool to the touch and just the right thickness for comfort. I have a Long Haired Chihuahua who has asthma, overheats quickly and pants franticly. Whenever she is in this state she will go, on her own, to her cooling mat and lie down. Our outdoor feral cat loves this blanket inside his house! It keeps him cooler than other blankets. The only thing is that his claws sometimes pull at the stitching and fabric, but it still holds up well, it's just not as nice-looking as when it first arrived. Definitely a great purchase!

It's definitely not cold to the touch and I probably would have given it 3 stars but my long-haired cat loves it. She has a tent on my east facing terrace and we've had some very high temps this summer and she's been happy as can be sleeping on it in 100º heat so 4 stars it is. Favorite playing spot too.

The material reminds me of quilt material. It is cool to the touch. However, it did nothing for our dogs and one dog even tore it up the first night. I was disappointed.

This is not a mat, this is a small mattress pad. It does feel cool but it is not a mat. I received it the day before leaving on vacation so I have not cleaned it yet.

While I agree with most reviews written this mat is very thin. I found though that the cooling effect works very well. My dogs enjoy laying on it in this hot summer weather. The size large is actually small. Wish I had bought the extra large one.

My 5lb senior dog has been overheating lately as our apartment gets blasted by sun from 2pm until the sun goes down. It was 85 degrees in here today--with the AC on. I've been setting up cooling stations for him. These pads, while just breathable material, have been a godsend. I've got him under a damp towel on the cooling pad, surrounded by fans with me on the bed, and he finally cooled off and passed out for a nap. It's so helpful I ordered 2 more. Lifesavers!

I would say this purchase was worth the money. Our house doesn’t have a big enough air conditioner. I noticed the pets, some of whom are quite old, laying on the laminate floor instead of their beds because it’s cooler. I bought a couple of these to lay over their beds and now the cats and dogs both try to lay on the dog beds, lol. I mean they don’t feel like ice, but I’d say the pets are happy with them. Quite disappointed that my dog didn’t like nor have the "cool” and "comforting” feel that was described in so many reviews. It could just be my dog but he still prefers the floor than the mat.

Unfortunately my pom has lost all of his fur so he can't keep himself cool in the summer heat so this really helped! Of all the places he'd usually lay on the couch, when I got him this cooling mat he always laid wherever it was. This is a cool light material which fits perfectly on top of the dog bed, the only improvement I would suggest is for it to have a velcro strips on all four corners so that it doesnt move around or slip easily
