The round portion of the lamp only fits loosely on the base, except for a cord that runs through one side of the base, making it easy to move. The stiff cord also makes it difficult to place the lamp in the right spot. A normal sized bulb extends unprotected well beyond the bulb opening. Looks cool but is a rather impractical design for everyday use if you never touch it. I wouldn't buy anything else.

Unfortunately I had to return this lamp as it was not suitable for the purpose I bought it for. But I regretted returning it because it was an attractive, unique light. The price is a little high, but the lamp was solid and well made. I had to look for a lightbulb that didn't stick out too much like other reviewers mentioned, but I was able to find one with no problems. I would happily keep the light if it worked for my specific needs.

Doesn't look like the picture. The one I received was a light copper color. The cord was heavy/bulky and literally dragged the lamp with its weight. Any bulb you use will stick out too far. The beam is not very directional and will cast unwanted shadows unless aimed at a blank wall with no obstructions. Completely disappointed. Luckily, Revain has a good returns policy. I hope this is constructive criticism that the manufacturer can use.

I might not understand this, but the way the cable is pulled through the hole that goes from the base to the light fixture can be that little speck of light a bit difficult to manipulate. Once you have it where you want it, the device will slip out of place if bumped. However, this is a great little headlamp for the money. This lamp is exactly what I needed. There is no ceiling light in my living room and this was the perfect size and shape to place on a bookshelf to direct the light towards the ceiling for a nice ambiance. This is a good projector. It's pretty well made and appealing. I need a spotlight for a mannequin and I don't want anything flashy. This is a small sphere (approximately 4" in diameter) with one open side and a medium sized ceramic socket in the hole.
