Kensington Docking Station

I bought it a while ago and I really liked it, but I couldn't find it locally. Works as I expected. If you use it for network, be sure to install the driver. XP will try to set it up automatically, but it didn't work on the first dock I bought. Forget trying to install it later, it can't be found in USB devices because they all say Universal or Hub. There is a driver update, it fixes the blue screen due to the network port. After the installation the problem was gone.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Security

Good enough for me Best notebook accessories

I bought the docking station because I had an old laser printer (HP 2100tn Laser Jet) that I couldn't get to work over the network. The problem was that if I had bought a Lenovo docking station, I would have spent the same as I would for a printer. The Kensington product works well and I am happy with its performance. Key Features OK, check out the PS/2 ports

Bought this unit about a week ago to use as a docking station for a new laptop to use that doesn't have any of the conventional ports. You have to install the software that came with it to use the serial or parallel ports and I had to reboot my computer for the parallel port to work. (Note that the serial port shows up with non-default settings, mine is COM4 so any software should be directed to that location.) I haven't tried the serial port, but the USB and parallel ports work fine . Note…

Pros
  • Hi-Speed USB 2.0 for 40x faster transfers than USB 1.1
Cons
  • Doesn't go well with everything
