I used the Kensington Slimblade for several years until it wore out. I tried Orbit Fusion hoping it would be a feature update. The first impression was the spiral ring. It feels fluffy and gritty and sounds like other devices at a third of the price. Great Trackball! I give 5 stars but there are a few little things I would like to change a bit. The ball is a bit small, especially for multi-monitor work. The scroll ring is okay, but it sits too high and surrounds too much of the (already small) trackball. This can be a lower/flatter shape and a more open part of the ball. I wish I'd read some of the recent reviews more carefully. I found almost the same issues reported by other users (jerky, erratic and clunky scroll ring, erratic tracking behavior in general regardless of dpi setting, and annoying left button double-tap). NOT EVEN CLOSE UP on the quality and smoothness of the Kensington Expert trackball that I've used a couple of times. Pros: It's a massive improvement over the old wired Orbit in many ways. The shape comfortably fills my hand and eliminates the need for a palm rest. The keys are conveniently arranged, easily accessible and well pressed. The ball rolls smoothly (so far - just a day). Cons: The scroll ring steps back a few steps from my older Orbit. This one is very scratchy in sound and feel.
