I misread the description of this item. As described, it is made of rubber. I like it and use it, but eventually I will switch to a hard plastic case.

Perfect for my key (Mitsubishi Endeavor). My original key case cover kept falling apart after changing the battery. I glued it and was horrified at the thought of spending $100 to replace the key (blank key plus trim). This coating was a simple and easy fix.

I had to buy 2 of these. The rubber piece that connects to the key fob broke on the first one I got, but they're cheap so it shouldn't be too hard to get another one. He is holding my car key on a chain as the plastic part of my car key broke. I wish the part that connects the chain to the car key was stronger, but other than that it works.
