The only problem is that the ringer is not very loud and keeps ticking after turning it off. Otherwise a good buy for yourself or a friend who loves owls.

The timer is pretty light and feels cheap, not that I'm surprised at the low price. The alarm tone is short and quiet, at about 1 minute. The timer keeps ticking and then just disappears. I think it would be ok for longer periods of time (more than 10 minutes) but I want to use it as a "timeout" timer in 2-3 minute increments. It's hard to read the numbers on this timer. Also, it's very thin, unlike the old ones your mother or grandmother had. They seemed to last for decades but I can't find any.
