So simple my wife keeps wanting to shake it off

It works great. I've been shelling oysters with just an oyster knife for years. This device is so easy to use that my wife keeps brushing it off. Now I'm sitting and drinking beer. The investment is worth it.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Functionality

game changer! Just buy it!

Gentlemen just get it. It makes it easy to clean oysters. We just opened 4 dozen in less than 4 hours. It's a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll probably never eat oysters again. No brains if you love raw or grilled fresh oysters.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

A bit messy but saves time

Not all oysters clean perfectly. Instead, it sometimes breaks shells. a little dirty because the juice is spread all over the counter. It is best to place a towel underneath to catch liquids. but it's nice not to be cut by projectiles and much faster. I had 120 oysters to slaughter so I bought these and it saved me a lot of time.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Very expensive

A real finger saver - kitchen and dining room

Used for the first time last weekend. Worked as stated. Opened 9 dozen oysters with no problems, even ladies could open oysters, no cuts or injuries. The only criticism is that the grip is uncomfortable due to the straight cut of the round steel tube. The best solution is to put a bike grip on the end of the handle to make it comfortable.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Some bugs

Make oyster popping a breeze.

Used for the first time last night at our little get together. This thing worked like a champ. We immediately threw away a bag of oysters for smoking, grilling and roasting. We had also set up a self-service wet bar. Everyone liked it. Nobody had problems with it. Easily opens even the most stubborn oysters. I am very impressed with its durability and solid construction. If you like fresh oysters then this little gem is a must.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A bit torn

Best EVER for cleaning oysters!

The thing works great! I love it. I have a 30 year old oyster scar on my arm. I'll never fight an oyster again. I opened about 80 oysters on the Texas Gulf Coast last weekend and haven't had a problem with any of the stubborn oysters. Some people have complained that small pieces of oysters have broken off in the shell. You probably don't put the oyster hinge-side up. I didn't have the problem. He treated each oyster perfectly, the pieces didn't break off.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • A small change

Takes some oysters to get comfortable and pops them like a charm

Bigger than I expected but as strong as I wanted. Grab some oysters to get the hang of it and pop them open like a charm. I was afraid that the vertical arrangement would spill all the liquid, but that's not the case. Open and work with an oyster knife. I haven't eaten many oysters at home because I had a hard time opening them, but that's about to change! Too bad I didn't find this 30 years ago. All the oysters I missed.

Pros
  • understandable even for old people
Cons
  • No mold required
