Description of Kishu Binchotan Charcoal Water Filter

Binchotan charcoal (Japanese Oak) from Kishu, Japan is the highest grade. Absorbs impurities from water, resulting in pure, great tasting water (filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours). Mix of various shapes, sizes, split, and non-uniform binchotan charcoal sticks are included in one package. Shape and size of charcoal does not affect quality. Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry. Material: binchotan charcoal (Japanese Oak) from Kishu, Japan.

Good price, pocket quality

Great price, works just like the others. Note that there are small 1 x 2.5 cm lumps and the consistency is uneven. Some of the pieces are cracked and splintered when first cooked because they are not whole, solid pieces like regular packs.

It makes tap water taste great

I have been using Kishu Binchotan in my water for many years. I stick a stick in a pitcher of water and refill it every other day or so when the pitcher is empty. One stick lasts for several months; As soon as I notice that the taste has changed a bit, I replace it with another.

Pros
  • Filter for water jugs

Great value on custom shaped items and save money

This item contains irregular shaped and large items which cannot be sold as is. Some are short, some are short and some are not straight. So what? They work great in my water jug for cleaning. The pieces are whole - don't worry about broken pieces and particles. The pieces can be irregular in shape and size, but they are thin and small enough to fit in any carafe. I saved money by purchasing this inexpensive pack instead of three packs of 'regular' shaped and sized pieces. Follow directions and
