Doesn't really stick to cheese very well unless you insert the metal probes really deep, making them difficult to adjust when you're on a Grater grate, or if The cheese is a very large piece. It washes off easily, but is inconvenient to use.

We use it almost every day and it saves a lot of time. I wish it had lasted longer though, not that it was abused but used that much. They are hard to find in regular retail stores. Sometimes I've found one at a resale store, picked it up, and put it aside for a replacement.

This holder/handguard is slightly larger and feels slippery and difficult to hold. Other than that, it does its job as long as I watch it closely and don't try to grind anything. If I had known that there was an original Boerner holder, I would not have bought it.

Aside from being a little big, this is a good vegetable stand for cutting. It's nice, thick, and grips food well. It also has protective edges to protect your fingers from cuts. I would have preferred the metal prongs to be a bit more rounded at the ends rather than flat for better gripping of food, but overall it works well with my mandolin.

I was very disappointed in using this protection as it does not provide adequate hand protection. The prongs for securing the food were long enough, but when you start slicing with the mandolin, the "top lid or plug" portion goes up and down the back of the forearm. design flaw. This leads to unstable work and minimizes the purpose and functionality of the elements.

If you have a handheld mandolin or a narrow kitchen cut, it may be too big. This is made for large slicers. I have nothing to complain about other than the size. I just don't use it often because my slicers are narrow. When I say narrow, I mean 3 to 4 inches wide. If your slicer is wider than 4 inches, this could be perfect for you. You can still use it on smaller slicers but it's pretty clunky.
