KitchenAid Gourmet Winged Corkscrew Black Review

We bought the exact same corkscrew about 8 years ago and we really liked it! Well, fast-forward to 2021 and while it looks the same, it's now a flimsy piece of junk. The corkscrew is actually misaligned, so you need to point it into the cork. What happened to quality production? I am so disappointed!

This product exceeded my expectations as do most Kitchen Aid products! EXCEPTIONALLY well designed, easy to use and FAST! My favorite feature is the cork gripping wings, which hold the cork in place once removed, so you just unscrew the corkscrew and the cork pops out. NO more fighting to get a cork!

Of all the corkscrews I've owned (many), this is #1. It's easy to use and works very well due to its solid construction. One of the features that distinguishes this Kitchenaid opener from countless copies are the two inner "wings" attached to the legs next to the screw. These wings grip the cork after removal, making it easier to remove by simply turning the handle in the opposite direction. It's a well thought out design and it shows in every function. Beautiful opener.

My wife asked for a new corkscrew for Christmas to replace the cheap Chinese corkscrew we had in our desk drawer. Here's the bomb! Very heavy and well made. Other reviews say the cork is difficult to remove from a corkscrew, but it couldn't be easier. Just turn the handle in the opposite direction and the cork comes out of the corkscrew. Upon unboxing this bottle opener, the build quality was exceptional. Very solid construction and beautiful materials. I have used this product twice. When first used, one of the pointers was slightly out of sync with the other. I noticed it, but it still seemed workable. The second time, the pointers were completely out of sync. Fantastic wine opener. This one is sturdier with more leverage than the one it replaced and this has lasted over 10 years and outlasted some other fancier openers like rabbit openers. Simple design with strong connections and construction. This opener has more leverage than competing smaller models. Unplugging the connector is also very easy.
