Works pretty well but makes a big mess

Works pretty well but makes a big mess - most commercial juicers have a lid or lid to prevent water splashing out of the base. This one only has side shields, so it squeezed the juice out of an entire bag of limes, but squirted quite a bit of lime juice in a 5-8 foot radius. You can throw a large plastic bag over it and work in it, or you can mop the kitchen floor right after.

  • Good thing

Another great KitchenAid product!

The product works great. Be sure to set the mixer speed to 6 as advertised (maybe that's why some reviewers had noise?). Easy cleaning after juicing oranges yesterday. another bushel is yet to come. Since I was juicing in bulk, I took on the reviewers' suggestions of not using the juicing strainer and using the blender's bowl to collect the juice with a large strainer over it. The juicer is another great product for the kitchen and I am very happy with it!

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Not the best

I'm glad I bought this instead of a stand alone juicer.

I was looking for a mechanical juicer because I was tired of juicing lemons and limes by hand (limes are so hard). I had no idea such a thing existed until I saw the display, so I decided to try and not keep another small device. The pulp catcher is detachable, which is very convenient if you like pulp, and easy to clean. Many people claimed that the splashing only happened because the speed was too high. Not true, I only used the lowest settings and it still spattered a bit. I mitigate theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Disappointing.: Appliance parts and accessories

I really wanted to like this citrus juicer. I liked that it connected to my blender and I had one less device in my office. The first thing I don't like is the angle of the juicer. It's on the side. Most citrus presses force you to push down, with gravity helping you. It's not like this. If you are young and strong this may suit you although it is a bit awkward. I am not. So it's hard for me. The strainer that catches the pulp is terrible. It clogs after half an orange, I kept a spoon nearby to

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

I had this attachment as a child, and when my husband and I became addicted to citrus juice last winter, we decided we needed a more efficient citrus juicer than we had. We have a citrus press and a juicer. Both work well, but the first is only suitable for small citrus fruits (Chinese lime) and the second is bulky and a nuisance to remove and peel. This is the ideal intermediate option. Unless I'm worried about seeds, I don't use a strainer to get some pulp in my juice. The only tricky thingโ€ฆ

Excellent KitchenAid nozzle

I read dozens of questions and answers and reviews before purchasing. The main concerns were comments about black oil on a stick, excessive splashing and juice running down the hands. I'm short and have always enjoyed my standalone Black and Decker at my desk (not on a higher counter). There were no problems in this category. Testing the splatter issue I know even my B&D had splatter so I was ready for some. There was actually a little spatter, much less than my B&D, probably due to the designโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some issues

Fast, good harvest, best for parties.

Works great and quickly squeezes juice from large citrus fruits. It really cleans the fruit so the harvest is good, and the harvest is better when the fruit is room temperature (like most citrus tools). The included strainer tends to fill with pulp after 4-5 orange halves or 2-3 grapefruit halves, which makes sense. I haven't tried lemons and limes yet. Depending on your taste, you can also pass the juice through a tea strainer. Assembly is trivial - apart from removing the mixer if it's notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • A few small things
