KitchenAid KE161OHOBA Classic Strainer 7 Inch Review

Well done but the rice keeps getting caught in the giant plastic lip that connects the grille to the frame. This model is a very poor choice for washing rice.

I love most Kitchen Aid products but this one was disappointing. I don't use it that often but the plastic piece holding the net fell apart and didn't hold together so I had to replace it after only a few years, in that time I've used it maybe 6 times. and always hand washed.

Very good strainer. It has very small holes in the mesh so anything can be pulled into it. I love that it's bigger than the little ones I've had in the past. It's big enough to fit a fairly large amount of pasta (like a packet of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese) through. It is very durable and dishwasher safe.

Like the paint but not well done. As a cake designer, I often use a sieve to sift flour, powdered sugar, etc. This is my second colander. The first one got two big holes after a year of heavy use. I think that I have to replace the strainer every year, which is not normal. I think that's the price to pay for a kitchen help style kitchen.

I am satisfied with this sieve and I am a big fan of KitchenAid. I always wash it in the dishwasher with no problems. Although the description says it's 7 inches I find it an odd size as I bought it to make macaroni and cheese for the kids for lunch but it's too small to do it effectively. However, I found another use for it.
