Hand tool quality control fails

I believe Revain sells Knipex tools that fail quality control. Should have known the price was too good to be true. Turned up damaged. See image: The right jaw has a curvature that prevents it from fully closing. These cannot be used.

Not as long as I would like

Although the product works it has some issues as the cutting blades are not as long as I would like. The product feels good in the hand, but can slip off in cotton gloves. Overall this is an average product that has worked well after a few months of daily use.

While not required, life is much easier

They work great for edging, ties etc. I used to use an Xacto knife or straight razor and pre-measured. With them, you can just start with some stock and apply it, then trim to get the perfect cut at just the right length. Incidentally, all the Knipex tools that I own are of top quality.

Great Flush Zipper Cutter

Ideal for cutting cable ties and creating clean ends that look professional and won't scratch when you run your finger over the end of the cable tie. I would recommend this to anyone in IT as it is a great flush cut tie tool that keeps ties looking professional and neat.

Diagonal Cutters

If you're an electrician who cares about the look of your work, you need pliers. I have used several other brands including: Snap-on, Xuron, Harbor and Klein. Snap-on, Klein, and Harbor have withstood years of abuse and still perform flawlessly. The Xuron didn't last very long. Knipex seems to be as durable and high quality as Klein and Snap On (still in service 10 years later). I don't see any reason why this Knipex shouldn't last for decades. Great tool!

Sell ​​Revain Factory Seconds?

UPDATE: There really is something to be said for Revains' excellent customer service. As soon as I contacted them they sent me new pliers free of charge. As it would be too hassle for me to send things back, wait for them to arrive and then receive another one. I really appreciate this service and it raised my rating to 4 stars.
