Becomes blunt very quickly - cutting tool

I highly doubt it really has a carbide tip. It was practically useless for about a minute. Trying to find a good end mill without ordering a specific brand from my supplier is definitely not the right thing to do.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • So-so

it cuts fairly well and mills well

So far very impressed with use with hardened steel; it cuts fairly well and mills well. And a lot cheaper than some carbide counterparts that do the same; I will buy this brand of Kodiak in the future.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Exchange available

Not for aluminum - don't be a dummy like me

I made the mistake of using this for aluminum and the chip welding was instant and serious. It's a decent end mill for its purpose, so I won. Don't blame him for it. After removing the aluminum with pool acid I now only use it on wood.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • It's ok

One blade broke after 15 minutes of use

I used this to remove two teeth from my arbor press. It worked fine for about 15 minutes, then about 1/3 of the bottom cutting surface broke off. I'm almost done and I was able to finish the file, so mission accomplished.

Pros
  • Square Nose
Cons
  • Thin

Cuts 416 stainless steel well.

Great, bye I had to mill some out of 416 stainless steel and destroy the bits I already had as they couldn't handle the hardness. This bit made all the difference, cutting through the steel with ease. And even though it's a 4 flute bit, I was still able to cut pretty well. Full Disclosure: So far I've only used it once for about 45 minutes and on a drill press. But it still remains sharp and unworn.

Pros
  • Cutting Tools
Cons
  • I'll add later

Edit order history, saw this item, clicked on it again and practically stole it for $15 , now they charge twice as much and it's worth it, it was the wrong tool for my job, I had to mill a lot of hard aluminum, I should have gotten 3/8 but I needed 1/4 for some small spots and I thought, I would use 1/4" all the time. I had no idea what I was doing or what RPM to use. I sawed into it, I'm used to working with wood and not an amateur but a professional woodwork and it was really amazing how hard

Pros
  • end mill
Cons
  • cable is shorter than other picks
