Kohler 85114 VF Replacement Component Review

I replaced 8 Kohler triggers like this. The internal metal will corrode and yes you can try stripping it all and spraying WD40 on it and then sanding down the rusty metal but it's not the same. Just buy a new or returnable Revain part like I did, you're better off than just lubricating or adjusting what I originally tried.

I ordered the correct part using the serial number on the tank cap but it still didn't fit my tank. I've used it for a while but it wasn't satisfactory. The part number on the cover ended up missing one or both letters of the alphabet, so that may have been my problem. So be careful, numbers and letters go better together. Quality part but not cheap. I also have a polished chrome Kohler release lever (1025329-CP) that seems to work as well, but I needed brass. I also have a Kohler toilet that uses a chrome lever, so this is a $10.12 replacement part. I don't know why the brass is $52.19, but most importantly, it goes with my Kohler Rialto one-piece toilet.
