The Perfect Match - Rough Plumbing

The original part I was looking for is no longer made. The original became very difficult to turn due to water deposits. Turns out the real problem with the plumbing in my bathroom was the drain (loud squeaking when showering), but I'm glad Kohler still supports parts for the brands they've bought over the years.

Genuine Faucet Valves Item

This was just what I needed to prevent my faucet from leaking. I was worried I would receive a fake but this is a genuine item. The item was very easy to replace. My brand was sterling silver which I found when researching this part was purchased from Kohler. The kit includes a small capsule of lubricant, just enough to spread over the included o-rings during installation.

  • Nice packaging

  • Some trouble

The body is weak, so it breaks easily. Especially areas associated with.

The body is weak, so it breaks easily. Especially the areas connected with the longest screws. Extreme care must be taken when replacing this part. If you tie it a little more, the casing will break easily. Screw it in carefully when attaching the wall piece to the control knob. Stop when the screws stop. Maybe a quarter turn more, but no further.

Works great so far

The spare part has worked well so far. The problem I had was that I couldn't get 2 of the 4 screws out while removing the old part. I had to buy a screw extractor which worked very well. I would also recommend going to your local hardware store and getting new bolts for the new part. This part also comes with enough grease for all three o-rings. Good that there are no more drops in the shower.

Exactly for those old Sterling (Kohler) units

I love it when the plan develops! With restricted access behind a fiberglass block, it's nice not having to fiddle with matching things. Make sure the screws don't fall off when unscrewing or attaching, you have 4 chances to lose one into the chasm behind the tub each time. recommend a magnetized tip or something to catch it. If you drop it. The Hot Adjust screw has the same thread, it just needs to be shortened and fitted with a hex head. Don't ask me how I know that!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Lasted 3.5 years in faucet valves

My initial problem was the faucet which I didn't know about at the time so I bought it and replaced both. . The faucet then began to drip, eventually resulting in a constant flow despite the handle being in the off position. Luckily I kept the original piece and put it back on. The original part is approx. 21 years old. Guess what? There is no more leakage and the handle rotates smoothly again. Here are the "genuine" Kohler parts. You might as well buy a cheaper unbranded part and you might…

Quick and easy fix - you can do it yourself!

Bravo - our shower is working again Kohler fittings (single-lever Coralais) in our shower were original, delivered by the client almost 11 years ago. Hot water only ran for the first few minutes. Looking around the web we suggested replacing (a) the GP500520 Pressure Equalizing Valve, which was known for the round rubber diaphragm inside to crumble after around 10 years of use, and (b) the GP71969 Mixing Valve. Revain was the cheapest and fastest. (We have Prime). As good as new with these two…

Worked great no problems

If it turns out you have an old Coralais shower valve (part number K-157877-K-NA) be prepared to spend big bucks on Kohler replacement parts or much more Spend money to hire a plumber to replace the brass valve body. This style of valve body was originally manufactured by Sterling and is no longer manufactured. When Kohler bought out Sterling many years ago, Kohler decided to continue making serviceable parts for this valve body, but the parts are expensive and the selection is fairly limited…

  • Excellent overall performance
