Always check the latest reviews

The last reviews for this product were questionable, but I ordered anyway. I bought two 2x2GB kits, 8GB in total (4 sticks in total). One of the 4 sticks is defective. My computer would not boot with all four flash drives installed. I went through the process of testing different sticks at different banks etc. Given the latest reviews, I'm not sure I'd want to risk a replacement. By the way, they don't look like the pictures. They are the low profile type. That's fine as I actually prefer them…

Computer from RAM, good stuff.

Between great prices and great customer service (can you say you can follow up?) I am more than happy with this purchase. I ordered two memory cards for an old computer to expand the device's capabilities and have had no problems with the products I received from Komputerbay. So I ordered two more, like the first one to get the best out of my motherboard and like the first set, no problem. Thanks for a great product at a great price! The cards have now been in the car for about 3 weeks and it…

Great value for the extra 4GB of RAM. So far this has worked great.

I bought this to upgrade my almost ten year old computer to Fallout 4. If it didn't work, I would have to buy a new computer or console for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Fortunately this was not the case. The RAM increased my total capacity to 8GB, which combined with an $80 GPU upgrade finally allowed me to play Fallout 4. Hopefully I won't have to upgrade or replace my PC for another year.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Unusable features

Doesn't work on cheap motherboards.

Doesn't work on HP Compaq 5300y - only one DIMM works, as soon as I put in two it gets a blue screen and reboots. I tested it on a second computer of the same model. However, according to the specs, this should work just fine. I was able to get it to work on the fourth computer I tried, a Dell Optiplex 360, and plugged the 360's memory into an HP CQ5300Y. I think part of the reason is that the Compaqs are cheap, but they worked great with Micron and other memory with the same specs. I think…

Works great at a cheap price.

When I first installed memory in an old computer I built a few years ago, I was surprised when the system didn't boot the first time. I checked everything, tried again and this time it booted but with an error saying the system couldn't boot the first time because the memory speed was too high and it rebooted at a slower speed. Since my old memory ran at 800MHz and this memory was supposed to run at 800, I was a bit disappointed and wanted to return it. However, after a few days a check of the…

Maybe next time. for Memory

Oops! Tapping into memory (yes, correct style/guy) and getting a BSOD is never a good sign. Returned them for a different brand. Although the sticks were well packaged and sealed and looked brand new, they didn't work (perhaps a compatibility issue?). But in the end they didn't work. Pulled her out of the system and everything went back to normal. Double checked they were the right guy, they were, but I didn't like my system. They had pretty decent reviews which is why I bought them in the…
