🚴 Kool Stop Thinline Threaded Cantilever Brake Pads - Linear Brake System Review

The product itself looked good. But the description online was wrong. It said it included a "knurled lock washer system", which it didn't. The web image also shows the washers as part of the product. It was a sealed package and they were not included.

I use them on cantilever brakes on a 1980's Schwinn passage. Due to the geometry of the frame, these pads are the only convenient way to upgrade to modern cantilever brakes without the pads touching the inside of the fork. Otherwise they are just good brake pads. Highly recommended.

The biggest advantage of these pads is that they are thin enough to fit in the narrow forks and allow enough working room, like my classic Pinarello steel cyclocross frame. I've been using Kool Stop pads on both MTB and CX bikes for over two decades and they are in some ways the gold standard for performance, high quality, affordable and durable brake pads.
