These are thin lightweight shorts which my 10 year old son says are comfortable and fit well. He likes that they have pockets and are lightweight. They're about the size of a t-shirt, although the fabric is a little thicker. I think they are perfect for summer but too skinny for fall or summer so these are home/game shorts; I probably wouldn't send him to school with it.

We bought these light and dark gray sizes 9-10 for my 9 year old son who has a straight, slim build. They're long, just above the knee, but a little tight at the waist, which is surprising given how things usually sit on them.
