A good UK made kettle is very important and it's the best kettle I've found since moving here in 2001. I've read some negative reviews about the kettle being 'plastic inside' which I'm not very good at, it has plastic parts but the casing is all metal. Cooks fast and doesn't burn - will definitely buy more.

I was very picky with the design as I wanted to make sure I could easily lift the pot without accidentally pressing the buttons. This pot meets these criteria and is heated to specific temperatures with an accuracy of 1 degree. I'm concerned about durability as the pan itself appears to be thinner metal (apparently from the rounded top edge of the pan). The handle is made of plastic, looks like chrome. The KRUPS BW442D kettle was bought to replace a KRUPS FLF-1W kettle that had been in daily use for ten years until it started leaking. The first impression is that the kettle is bulky. Disappointing product. The kettle broke after 10 months. I used it twice a day with tea. The fault lay in the contact between the base and the bottom of the kettle. The neutral spring at the base proved not stiff enough and eventually lost contact with the shell. Otherwise, I really like the kettle. If I could just buy the base the problem would be solved. This kettle sucks! The lid has come off and flown away and the bottom is leaking after 3 months of short term use! Both issues are known bugs. I called customer service, spoke to a useless rep whose remedy was lengthy and difficult to repeat and if you need a manager which I did you have to wait 24-48 hours to call back! This product sucks! This is my second Krups kettle. The first lasted many, many years (7 or 8 I think) and served well from day one. This has been revised and has defects.
