Get what you pay for

Flap Discs have been in use for 15 years and have proven to be the worst in terms of durability. Yes , they're about 3 times cheaper than better brands but they don't even last 1/3 longer.I keep them in my closet as an emergency stock in case I run out of my favorite brand or stop using them altogether.

Pros
  • Premium Zircon Grain, #40, 4 1/2" Top Speed 13,300 RPM.
Cons
  • Appearance

Ideal for general sanding/sanding

These discs start off great and can really remove metal, scale or rust. They wear out faster; Maybe it's the choice of grain. If you clean some of the welds and dross at about a 3/4 inch angle, the wear will start to show about halfway through the job. I like them but wish they had lasted a little longer.

Pros
  • Flap discs consist of abrasive strips bonded in overlapping circles to a strong fiberglass backing.
Cons
  • Long Lead Time

I expected more from them. It works very well initially, 5 stars, but after about 8-9 ft of loops you start to think you are using it incorrectly because the quality is going down. I started tilting it and applying some more force. I'm not a Petal Disc Pro but I've used a few. I think from now on I will only buy Diablo records.

Pros
  • Grind smoother than angle discs, less aggressive than angle discs, it's the best choice for flat work when used with an angle grinder
Cons
  • Hard to say
