KT THERMO Instand Read 2-Inch Dial Thermometer: Ideal for Perfecting Coffee Drinks & Chocolate Milk Foam Review

I ordered this thermometer because I lost my original one and missed it. I have bought several thermometers without pan protection and have regretted these purchases. I really like this tool!

The water is boiling and it hasn't exceeded 170 degrees. So 50 degrees. I only checked because my pot was very hot when frothing milk and the temperature was only around 35 degrees. So I tested it in boiling water and it boiled at 170 which is EXCELLENT.

Sturdy steel construction. Works as expected but is slower to display liquid temperature compared to the digital model. I use it to control the temperature of a hot cream and milk mixture for my ice cream recipes. Works as it should. highlighted.

I use it to check the temperature of the water I brew my coffee in (I try to get it to 190 degrees Fahrenheit). It works, but I wish it took a little longer - you have to put your hand close to the steaming water to get an accurate reading in my kettle and the glass disappears, fogs up. It might be a little cumbersome, but it gets the job done!

I bought this specifically because it was for liquids and didn't require batteries. Call me old school, but I don't want to change batteries, buy batteries and throw them away. It has a nice storage box and also the clip works pretty well on the mug. If you watch my video you will see me pouring hot tap water in it. We are in Arizona so the water is hot in the summer. I was delighted to have this thermometer to complement my espresso maker/frothing cup. But when I opened the box I was disappointed to see that the thermometer was 3-4 times larger than I expected, the face was ridiculously large. I'm sure even my neighbors down the street can read it. This is my first 1 star review but due to the inaccuracy of this thermometer I am forced to do so. I bought this to test the temperature of a beer kegerator with a liquid water test. After over 12 hours of side cutting a glass of water in a kegerator at 35 degrees, the thermometer read 25 degrees but the water was still definitely runny. Then I took out the glass and added ice cubes to do the ice bath test. This time the thermometer read 20 degrees, which means it was wrong by 10-12 degrees…
