Rusty after one wash.

I love this style of air purifier and have been replacing what I had for years. I thought Kuhn Rikon was a pretty decent brand so I bought these. After a run in the dishwasher it started to rust. Now the blade is completely rusted and I throw it away because I don't want the metal getting into my food.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Peeler. fits air purifier

These air purifiers have been on my Revain list for a while. They have been recommended by America's Test Kitchen and Serious Food. I peeled a couple of medium sized potatoes and the peeler did the job with ease. I wish the grips were at least an inch or two longer than they are and a little heavier and thicker. For the price I would like to take two knives instead of three if the handles were more comfortable in the hand.

  • availability
Cons

Without a doubt - the best

As an experienced cook, I am always on the lookout for the best and most efficient appliances. This automatically excludes 95% of the items sold. This "French knife" is almost perfect. Why would anyone use anything else? I can peel peaches, pears and mangoes, chop cheese, peel and thinly slice potatoes. And the price couldn't be better. By the way, Kuhn was voted the best vegetable peeler of the year 2018 and cost 1/3 - 1/4 of the more expensive competition.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • thin

I wanted very fine zest (no lemon white) and Kuhn Rikon was the best. So

We survived (in 10 years or so) this knife and can't live without it. No one in town stocked them when our last one stopped peeling properly, so we bought a few different ones locally while they were on order. I had to peel some lemons for limoncello so I decided to try all 3 types. I wanted very fine zest (no lemon white) and Kuhn Rikon was the best. So if you want thin skins this is the set for you.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

ZERO STARS. for knives

This is a piece of junk. This knife is awkward to hold. It feels very small in hand and the handle design makes it difficult to grip. Since the body is malleable/bendable plastic, the blade fell out of the hilt when I tried to clean it. I had to put it back in to use it. Bad sign. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing either, but it cuts very thin slices of what you're trying to peel. Since it's not adjustable (most if not all knives aren't adjustable), you'll just have to keep peeling if…

Great if you know how to care for high carbon steel

Works great. I even peeled the skin off the pumpkin. Inexpensive but best we've used as we prefer the Y shaped peepers. I know a lot of people complain about it rusting, but I call it user error. This is not stainless steel, don't expect to be able to handle it as is. If you know someone who has a non-stainless steel kitchen knife or pocket knife, ask them what oil to use after washing to make it food safe. Rinse immediately after use and NEVER put in the dishwasher. If that's too much…

The best air purifiers on the market for the price

The best air purifiers on the market for the price. Let's face it, no one will ever take the time to change their paring knife blade when it's no longer sharp, you might as well replace them when needed, and they're priced right. They're oddly shaped because they're meant to be held differently than traditional scissors, and holding these Y-knives properly will give you more agility, control and ultimately speed when using this device. I've peeled a ton of potatoes in my day and Y peelers are…

Pros
  • There's something to it

Rusty - misleading care instructions - NOT FLUSHABLE!

I have other products from this manufacturer that I really like, so I had no hesitation in ordering this product. I wish I had read the questions, reviews and description a little further before purchasing. They work great until it's time to clean them. I always check before putting anything in the dishwasher. The symbol attached to the product indicates that it is dishwasher safe. but this is very misleading. After reading more on this subject, I learned that running the dishwasher is "not…

The best and mine will NOT rust.

I waited a few months before writing a review because I read that these knives have a rust problem. Not that I can see. These are the BEST, ABSOLUTELY BEST peelers I've ever used and I'm 70 years old. I was very skeptical at first, especially considering the low cost and seemingly "cheap" construction (plastic). I'll admit I wasn't thrilled the first time I used one, but it turned out to be just as much pressure on it as I had on my previous knife. Once I learned how to "whiten" the peel, these
