It's definitely a smaller star but it works for us. Our tree is 6.5 feet and 40 inches in diameter. I think if the tree was a bit wider it would definitely look too small. But for us it's perfect! I think it was a bit overpriced for what it is but our star broke and it was the best I could find so close to Christmas.

We have two large holly trees trimmed like Christmas trees in the corners of our home. I am decorating them over the holidays and have ordered two of these starlights to place on top. The trees are 15 feet tall, but these stars weren't littered with size and worked great. They work well in rainy, cold weather and are now packed up for next year. Very happy with this item.

Cute TINY glowing star for wood: Maybe someone with tiny elven hands in the elven oval office used a tiny ruler to measure this, but this is sold as a 9 inch star. Fake News. It's only 7.5" - I'm replacing my old 9" star and the size is proportional to my 7.5 foot tree and decorations. I send photos with a standard ruler as evidence. Nowhere on Kurt Adler's packaging does it say 9 inches, except on the Amazon store label. 7.5 inches just doesn't fit. Not sure if it was mislabeled but will…
