Polished Brass Kwikset 1825-18 6-Way Adjustable Dead Latch Review

I was very upset that my front door wouldn't open! It was so embarrassing when we fiddled with the doorknob just to let someone in or out of the house. I looked at You Tube where someone pointed out this part. I didn't think the solution would be that simple, but it turned out. The other latch is simply worn out. We had so many problems after our expensive front door handle started to fail. The door was stuck in the closed position and would not open when the handle was turned. Even after buying a new pen, it just didn't work properly. Finally, after a lot of headaches, we tried replacing the metal part that fits into the door frame (included in this kit). We had to cut a piece of wood out of the frame to mount the replacement part, but we haven't had any problems since.
