Red KYB 565016 MonoMax Gas Shock Review

Amazing price, it took a bit more time and extra hands to install these shocks but the difference in ride was a big improvement

Will replace the shock absorbers on every truck I buy with MonoMax from now on. Really good ride (surprisingly) and holds the weight. I drive a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

They replaced the original shock absorbers at 230,000 miles. The bed rattled and bounced, approaching the truck again in like-new condition. I strongly recommend replacing the front ones at the same time.

They will fit a '98 Ram 1500 4x4 with an extension (1 inch riser?). I didn't notice any difference in handling, but I don't drive trucks that much to get a feel for anything and I don't wear anything. They were red, I like red, nice red.

This is a slightly rougher ride than the OEM. This is in the description so it wasn't a surprise. KYB is a brand of choice for me if I don't want to spend a lot of money. They have always been a good buy. They are excellent for a heavy truck. Boots included.

Tough at first! Only 300 km so far! I love her! The KYB Mono Max is priced between Monroe and Bilstein shock absorbers! They do a good job eating big bumps! However, do they hit very hard on fast shots? No shock loaded to increase nitrogen pressure? This is a passive shock!

dampers are very good fairly strong slightly stiff nothing what some reviewers say. However, the Silverado's rear upper shock absorbers are made of extremely weak, very thin metal. They always seem to rust in this area, I can see these shocks break them easily, very difficult to repair.

I installed these shocks on my Chevy Silverado. When I tow my boat these jolts are very weak and bounce like crazy. I spoke to customer service prior to purchasing the shocks to ensure I purchased the correct ones. I don't use the boat much so it took me a while to ride the truck, too late to return the shock absorbers now. I am very disappointed in these beats. Now the support link on the Amazon page is broken. I would not buy these shock absorbers again.

My Dodge 2500 Ram TD 01 already felt better than new! Didn't even know this old truck could feel so plush, nice update from stock, definitely good value for money, won't hesitate to buy again. Edit, took my truck onto a dirt road for the first time since install with a washboard, not impressed! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my 58 year life! Paving, towing etc ok I'm deducting three stars. I would not recommend these struts for a 3/4 ton Dodge Cummins if you plan to go off-road.
