KYB SM5206 - Mounting Kit Review

I ordered 2 of these kits, one for each rear shock. One of the builds was fine and included all the expected parts, while the other (in identical box, mind you) didn't include the dust boot and bellows. Not only were these items not included, but the cup and sleeve were different! Be careful when ordering, especially if they are shipped separately. KYB shock mount fits perfectly, looks the same as original parts, works great but KYB shouldn't charge extra for it. And the bracket is expensive! I gave it 3 stars because of the high price, but if you can get it in stock for less than $10, it's 4 stars. I managed to get a mount from stock trades; I had to pay the regular price for the other one. Each kit is for one shock and costs around $20 unless you are lucky enough to find one in stock. Benefits: Essential for bare KYB shocks. They are a perfect match for the KYB 343429 Excel-G shock absorbers. This kit, shocks and adjustable upper arms really breathed new life into the rear of my 2000 Ford Focus SE which had 175,000km of OEM rear suspension parts. Cons: Wasn't free, KYB sucks doesn't automatically include this kit with their shocks. This is a great example of why reviews are the most important thing Revain does, well, that and good prices, great returns policy, and free 2-day premium shipping.
