It's worth it!: Pliers

Finally! The right tool for my work! I want my colleagues to replace a burned out lightbulb in their head and get a hint. Or stop being cheap asses!

Picked her up the other day to use the big one.

Got these the other day to use a large locking ring where my smaller set just couldn't do the job. These things worked fine and removed the 4" locking ring with no problem. Having a ratchet is a great advantage. It is very important!

Good choice but you just need to learn how to use it.

I have a pair of no. 87 and I really like them, so I also bought this smaller size, the quality seems good, just had to learn how to pick the lock, but now it is no problem. They appear to be much sturdier than many multi-pair sets in this size range. I mainly work with air jacks and space is limited so it's nice to have a compact tool that is versatile for different rings of this size.

A must for anyone who wants to work efficiently with less effort

If you've done enough gear work you know the frustration of working with cheap snap ring pliers. This is important for those who want to work efficiently with less effort. The ratchet holds the ring open or closed so you can focus on pulling or pushing the locking ring into place rather than trying to hold AND position the locking ring. I like it. Too bad that a case for small parts was included!

These tongs are too thin to be of any use.

You know how you get snap rings that just won't come loose and pliers that keep popping out of holes? Well, if they pop out of the holes when you pull the pins, you will damage the reversing switch assembly. I've had several of these models and each of them would fail after a few hours of use. What good is a tool that can't do the job it was designed for? I will never buy another Lang product as long as I live. Note: the interchangeable pins seem like a nice feature, but if you have different…
