Worth the money for men

Worn to Antarctica, helped a lot. Protects against wind and feels like a second skin. The only downside is they don't have women's sizing so they have some extra fabric around the collarbone area which is bunched up and doesn't fit my shape very well. Otherwise they work great.

Pros
  • Working without hands
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Yes, no for Heavyweight

This review is for the HEAVYWEIGHT version. First off, let me say that they have the potential to be a good base for heavyweights (they're very thick, almost like a wetsuit), but that's where they fall short. They are 55% cotton not polyester as stated in the description. Cotton in the base layer is very bad as it is the first layer that absorbs your sweat and cotton never gets wet, dry or cold. Oh, and the one they sent me seems to have been used a few times. Covered to do hair.

Amazing base coat, best for men

Definitely the best base coat (or long johns) I have ever bought. Incredibly warm, soft fleece on the inside and a nice blend of polyester and spandex on the outside. They are a little snug but still very pretty. I'm about 5ft 6in, 150 and ordered medium. Again, they fit well but are a bit tight. I'm not worried about their "extensibility". I snowboard in the west and was also looking for something to help me shed the chill in freezing temperatures - that fits! I highly recommend them!

  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Frequency

Exceeded my expectations

This is the heaviest base layer I own and I have had several sets over the years. A little tighter than I'm used to, but not uncomfortable or restrictive. We hunt from climbing trees at a grade F and they have held up well. This is of course multi-faceted. But I found my outer jacket hanging on a rack for hours before I felt chilled enough in the 20 degree weather to need it. Worth the money and not as expensive as UnderArmor. Maybe a little bulky for hiking/hiking, but for stationary…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

When you need base layer protection in sub-zero temperatures

I rarely write reviews on anything but this company knows how to make base layer clothing. I live on the Canadian Midwest border and we have harsh winters due to the cold winds and sea location in my area. This means that a significant part of winter passes in sub-zero temperatures. Usually in the coldest period some -50 days. I've worn a few different base layers and they all promise to keep you warm and dry plus a few other useless claims. With the exception of a few high-end expedition gear…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Do you know those glasses cleaning cloths? Same but thicker

Much thicker though. I got them before I had to go to work, which was pretty cool because I didn't have to work 12-hour shifts outdoors thinking about fireplaces and heaters all day in the freezing weather. When I first put them on I felt they were a bit tight but it's a base layer which is to be expected but although thick compared to my waffle jersey it took some getting used to. I noticed them for quite a while during my shift, but eventually I stopped feeling the embrace of spandex. I felt…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some flaws
