Earlier I wrote a review about the smell and taste of silicone as these bowls are pretty bad. I've tried many different ways to get it out, washed it, soaked it in vinegar and nothing worked. I finally found a way to get it out and it works great, just bake the ice cube molds in the oven at 315 degrees for two hours and voila! The smell and taste of silicone is completely gone. Please.

I love these ice cube trays. Just ran a ball/scoop ice cream mold test and I'm glad I found it. Much easier to use from start to finish and they give you big 'cubes' so yes you're done! Easy to fill Super flexible so cleaning isn't too difficult They don't overflow (unlike balloon molds!) Pop up method, they're pretty easy to remove. I hate them, I have a lot of silicone molds and have never had this problem to this extent. They have deposits that appeared after washing. I've tried rinsing with cold water, hot water, soap, no soap, dishwasher, other soap and wiping off the residue. It just doesn't stop coming back. They just have a grayish-white coating that doesn't stop appearing after you wipe them off. These large silicone ice trays are a perfect fit! We just used a mold to make holiday ice cubes for holiday cocktails. They were a hit and so easy to make! As mentioned, if you don't clean them thoroughly before first use, you'll end up spoiling your drinks with a plastic-tasting ice cube. I have a large silicone cube mold from Tovolo. Since the big cube melts slower than a few small ones (less surface area), I wanted more. I saw that they were 2 trays for about the same price and bought them although I was a bit concerned about the relative quality. I didn't have to worry. The silicone on kitchen trays is thinner. I bought these and hand washed thoroughly before use. I've noticed that when the ice cubes melt, strange white flakes get into my water that have a strange chemical taste. It totally annoyed me. Then I noticed, like many other users, particles or cloudy material these bowls produce every time I use the ice cubes I make with them.
