I bought these and hand washed thoroughly before use. I've noticed that when the ice cubes melt, strange white flakes get into my water that have a strange chemical taste. It totally annoyed me. I put the trays in the dishwasher and ran them on a 2 hour hot cycle. It does not matter; After that I still had the same white flake problem. There will also be an odd white coating on the silicone. I looked through these reviews to find a solution. My water is perfectly clear and filtered, and my other ice trays never produce white flakes, so water quality is definitely not the issue. I saw one person recommend baking these pans to get rid of this problem. I baked them at 350 degrees for 3 hours. I was actually hoping this would work - when I took the pans out of the oven, they were blue again! But it made the problem (and chemical taste) worse when I tried using ice cubes again. The photos were taken after I threw away the new cubes. The rest covered them completely. I gave up and Revain got my money back very easily. To be clear, SILICONE DOES NOT DO THIS. I don't think this silicone is made correctly. I'm afraid these trays can be dangerous.
