Nice wood but I don't like cutting boards with sealing

Nice wood but it's treated (maybe varnished) and doesn't apply very well (see photo). I wish they would just leave it unfinished so I can apply the mineral oil.

Looks good good price

My old maple board fell apart (several pieces came together) and had to be replaced. Looking for a one piece board this seemed like a good buy. I was right! It looks great and works great!

Quality cutting board

Thick solid ebony cutting board. Has high quality wood. Beautiful color and texture. I use it to cut cooked meat and serve it right on the board. Best of all, it doesn't slip on the countertop when cutting. I have the small size. I could take more Still love, love! Definitely highly recommended!

It's not ebony, it's colored with an unknown substance. Is it food safe?

Sections after some use show that the color of the underlying wood is different than the paint or stain covering it. I removed the metal handle to make sure it was stained with an unknown substance. See photo. It is presented as "ebony", which it is not. Because of this bias, I doubt the coating is generally food safe.

Heavy duty and durable product for the kitchen and dining room

The cutting board was much heavier than expected and the packaging provided was good with corner protectors (which I reused) for some corners of the house. The thickness of the chopping board was great for slicing meat and could handle the heavier manual slicing of pork chops. It's also easy to assemble and the metal handle was solid. I prefer this type of solid chopping board without dents

Stable, beautiful and well thought-out cutting board.

Simplicity. There's a value proposition here, and the boy does it. Great cutting board. Whole piece of wood. No fancy patterns or exotic woods. Just a great piece of wood with a handle that's easy to move, adjust, etc. Thoughtful, comfortable leg pads help drain water after washing. Forget all the brand names dear boards. This is what you would do if you made your own from freshly felled trees. Durable, easy to clean, functional and beautiful. Did I mention a reasonable price? Great cutting…

Heavy and one piece

I love this cutting board! I've had many cutting boards in my time, some large, some small. Some were very cheap, others very expensive. I had a very expensive handmade cutting board made from a large piece of wood (it's gone) but I have to say this cutting board is my favorite. It's heavy enough not to slip when I'm using it, it has a metal bracket on one end, and it's a nice piece of wood.
