Pinpoint precision, easily accessible.

I bought this to test the new reverse osmosis system I am using on my carnivorous plant collection. Using distilled water as a control, which has zero TDS, this tester showed zero TDS. The reverse osmosis system produces zero TDS water as it should. Don't let the low price discourage you. This is an excellent water tester, I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent in theory - laboratory instruments and equipment

Very good at measuring obvious water pollution, but not sensitive enough and stable in the 0-50 range for nearly clear/filtered water. In practice, a water quality close to 25 varies too much with temperature to make the measurement easy. The second mode, which displays both temperature and current over a more limited range for this scenario, can be a significant benefit.

very useful for water quality control

I recently moved to a new location where I found the tap water to be quite hard. I decided to order drinking water delivery but I wanted to know what the difference is. This little device is the first water quality tester I've ever tried. It's easy to use and comes with a nice case and two spare batteries (one already installed and one extra) +++. The reading for tap water is around 250, tap water that has been run through a new Brita filter is around 160 and delivered clean water is below 10…
