Most of the magic kits I've compared had the same little plastic parts (except for the wooden one from Melissa and Doug, which we also received but not the best quality), but the best thing about this kit is the instructions, both beautiful printed and on video (if you still have a DVD player). Most children's magic sets consider the instructions secondary, printed in small text on a piece of paper.

I got it for my 10 year old grandson for Christmas. He loved it and had already learned most of the tricks. Now he's working on getting faster at it. I love the fact that he got his nose out of video games and actually uses his own brain to get things done. Plus, he feels like an adult being able to attract so much attention with these little tricks.

My son asked me for a magic trick kit and I found it because I thought it was appropriate for his age and easy enough to understand magic tricks. He and his sister liked the set so much that we got an hour-long performance. I remember when I was younger I had my own magic kit for kids and the excitement in their eyes really brought back memories. There are many tricks and we look forward to learning more.

I bought it for my grandson's 6th birthday. He opened it up yesterday and has already sent me 2 videos of him doing 2 of the many tricks in this set. He's totally satisfied, no, he's excited about this magic set and having fun learning these new magic tricks. This is his first experience so he is definitely a beginner and very good at learning these simple tricks! Very age appropriate - suitable for a 6 year old.
