Disappointing Punch Set for Leatherwork

The punches felt flimsy and unimpressive lacking the sharpness expected from a tool in Industrial and Scientific category. The handles were slippery and uncomfortable to hold during use, leading to inaccurate punch marks..

Can't get her to hit.

I'm new to leatherwork but I've just tried using it with leather scraps and couldn't make a hole. I hope this is either user error or the skin quality.
