The leather strips have not been fully bonded to the blade so you cannot achieve a completely smooth stroke. I do not recommend this product.

Adhesive peels off and pads separate from shoulder blade. I constantly reglue them and I myself will glue them with good quality glue and then I'll be happy. I just don't think you need to fix the finished product to make it work.

Pretty decent sling. This line is good for getting to that sharp edge and/or holding it between sharpenings. The joints help polish the edge. I apply white on the suede side and green on the smooth side. Two holes are already drilled at the ends for a piece of string for hanging. Seems like a good deal for the money.

I have previously bought the Beavercraft and after buying this one I found it less solid. I ordered a set of green and white pastes, but I only received green ones. It's not about money, it's a process that has been interrupted due to an incomplete sequence of tools needed to get the job done in the right order.

The lanyard works well, the leather is firmly bonded to the lanyard. The width is good for my larger knives, it only takes about six strokes on each side to get a good polished finish. Then use the smooth side to knock off the burrs. Holes are drilled in the top and bottom of the board to allow a small string to be threaded through to allow the item to be hung when not in use. I am very happy with this lanyard and the two polishes that come with the kit.

I've managed to get most of my folding pocket knives and kitchen knives sharp enough to shave off arm hair, but for some that's just not enough. Well that's pretty decent for a sling. I was able to get an edge with it that could cut the hair on my arms but not on my face. Ironically, I could shave their heads but not their faces. Most annoying is the fact that the impact has a noticeable wave on both sides, which becomes even more noticeable as you add the mix because it wears away where the blade actually touches the skin, leaving the skin completely intact. I'm new to dressing but I learned pretty quickly with this tool. It is recommended to pay attention to both sides of the leather as when using the coarser green mixture should be applied to the coarser leather side - use the finer white mixture to the smoother leather side. The leather section is good enough for small pocket knives to regular kitchen knives. very good polish and edge of your knives.
