Did you open the box, put the filter in and found that it had a cracked filter in one of the pleats? Should it be like this? I need my filter so I have to use it this way until I buy another one. When I buy something I expect it to be full and I know it's just a small tear but still!

This is an accordion filter that is so difficult to install when you are not used to using it but the instructions are simple. It arrived undamaged and well packaged and you can't beat the price. The MERV 10 rating is good because it filters a bit without putting a heavy load on my HVAC system and definitely helps in allergy season.

UPDATE: Broke in less than 1 month! Downgrade from 3 to 1 star! Within 3 weeks of installation my heating was becoming less and less efficient to the point where my house was getting colder despite the stove running 24 hours a day. I went to examine the filter-----the accordion pleats are so flexible and loose, the pleats shrank and compressed under the gravity/airflow blocking all air. In addition, the filter was actually torn in several places by the wind. Absolute nonsense. Get a box filter,
