This is a great unit! Most laptops available today are very thin and light, so the DVD drive has to be left out to achieve this. Quiet and sleek, this slim USB flash drive slips easily into your desk drawer until you need it. I didn't notice any difference in the speed of installing software that I only had on the hard drive. CD ripping is also fast and efficient. The price is much better than direct from Lenovo, I am very happy with this purchase.

Bought because my laptop, like many modern thin laptops, doesn't have an internal DVD drive. DVD and CD play very well, no problems with them. The only downside is that the writing speed is very slow if you burn a lot of discs. What I liked about this CD is that I opened the box, plugged it in without installing anything and it started working right away. I broke the shipping carton seal to remove the DVD burner and immediately found that it came with the wrong connector cable. The end of the cable that goes to the DVD burning connector had an obviously wrong connector size. For real! So I had to order the right cable from a specialized online cable store. This is a great external drive that works just like any other. I chose it as I have a Lenovo laptop. I spent over 3 hours trying to figure out what to do - there is an AUTORUN file that does NOT set up the drive - it just installs ADDITIONAL junk like Paint and other non-essential programs.
